"They will throw their hands to their heads and cry". For The Elder Scrolls VI, it will be almost impossible...
Two sources close to the development of The Elder Scrolls VI have spoken to TheGamer exclusively about the game's current status, roadmap, and some of the limitations that developer Bethesda is facing as it moves forward.
According to our sources, The Elder Scrolls VI is a long way out and is being held back in part by limitations in Creation Engine 2, Bethesda's in-house game engine that has been used for several of its biggest recent titles.
Despite this, Bethesda is hopeful that it will be able to overcome these limitations with help from an external studio and is looking at the recently purchased Arkane Studios to step in and save the day.
Bethesda's development teams are facing several roadblocks as they work on The Elder Scrolls VI. One of the biggest is the Creation Engine 2. The updated version of the Creation Engine is still in its relative infancy and is said to be very unstable in its current state, with one source telling us that it's "almost impossible" to work with.
