Team USA to Compete in Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia

USA Basketball today announced the 2023 USA Basketball Mens National Team which will compete at the 2023 FIBA Mens World Cup Aug. 25-Sept. 10 in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia. The team will be led by head coach Steve Kerr and assistant coaches Erik Spoelstra, Mark Few, and Joe Mazzulla.

The 12-man roster includes: * Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers) * Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers) * Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics) * Paolo Banchero (Orlando Magic) * Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat) * Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers) * Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) * Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards) * Zach LaVine (Chicago Bulls) * Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks) * Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat) * Myles Turner (Indiana Pacers) The United States is the defending FIBA World Cup champion, having won the gold medal in 2014. The team will be looking to win its third consecutive World Cup title and its 17th overall. The United States will open the World Cup against the Dominican Republic on Aug. 25 in Manila, Philippines. The team will then play New Zealand on Aug. 27 in Okinawa, Japan, and Finland on Aug. 31 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The top two teams from each group will advance to the second round, which will be played in Manila. The United States is expected to be one of the favorites to win the World Cup, along with Spain, Australia, and France.
